Manu is a purebred Marwari. Although, she was born with black stripes those of a zebra. They are present on most of her body. Her owners take pride in her, and they treat her as though she is the queen of the stable. She would not be the queen much longer.
One night Manu was taken from her stall by men she did not recognize. They led the mare across the land, and to this big machine. She had never seen anything like it, and they arrived during dawn. It took a lot to get the mare inside the plane, but once they did they took lift off.
Manu hated this. Why was she taken from her home? Who where these people? It seemed as though Manu was on the plane for a lifetime. Though, it was only 2 days. They arrived in America, and Manu was hesitant to leave the plane.
After a few attempts, she was led out of the plane. Though, as she was halfway down the ramp, there was a loud bang. She galloped as fast as she could leaving this place. She galloped threw streets with the men following her for what seemed like forever. Eventually Manu got the feeling she was safe, and slowed to a walk.
She realized she was in a forest, and she slowly walked through the trails trying to hide her tracks as best as she could. There was something about this forest that made her feel safe, but she didn't know why. Manu walked up on a clearing as there was so much sunlight.
Within seconds the sunlight seemed to fade as a beautiful meadow emerged. Along with it, a large herd of horses. She noticed a stallion who was one of a kind just like her. He seemed to have chocolate colored coat with pintaloosa markings. He was kind, and made her a member of the herd. Manu had only told him about her story, but they weren't attached. He had a mate already, but he seemed to be the only one she could trust then.
When it came to fall, the stallion bred with most of the mares including Manu. She gave birth to a colt that spring, and she would not tell her son her story until it was time.
